The Saint's Lock - August 2011 Peru Photo Contest

This photo was taken in the Santa Catalina Monastery while visiting Arequipa. We spent most the time inside, however, the weather outside was a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon.

When taking this photo I strive to bring light to the small details of the Monastery.

It is ordained in beautiful color and decoration that the smallest details sometimes get overlooked. But this lock represents the history and the story that goes with the still standing Monastery and that is what I was hoping to capture.

I used a Canon XL Rebel and my main tip would be to have fun with shutter speeds, lighting and the F thingy
