I kind of remember this...I think we were killing time waiting for a train somwewhere in Peru, probably Lima, but not sure.

As I recall, we were looking for unusual rocks and putting them in those tin cans.

My "amigo" was just a kid who was there at the time, as I recall.

My vague memories of Peru are of the friendliness of the Peruvian kids. Wherever we traveled, llanos, playas, amazonia, andes..... the Peruvian kids were always ready to play with us. Remember going up to Clotilde's hometown (Muquiauio... spelling is incorrect... am doing it by 'ear') and food cooked in the pit. No restaurant chef could possibly make food that tasted better! And while we all waited (rather impatiently as I recall) the kids came from all around to play. I loved those times.
