Sea Shells on the Beach in Peru

Sea Shell starting to learn a little
A few of our collection
Most are less than 3 or 4 inches
Except this cowry that Lin found
Since our other web site is on sea glass and sea glass jewelry, Lin and I spend a lot of time on the beach (someone's gotta do it) here in Northern Peru.
With the La NiƱa weather pattern this year, it seems to have cause a lack of waves from the north and sand has remained covering the rocks, so sea glass is hard to find.
So we pick up other things like driftwood and sea shells on the beach. We finally started laying out the shells we had picked up over time the other day.
Wow! We had no idea we had such a variety of sea shells. We started looking up shells and identification since we know nothing about conchology (study of shells).
Really interesting as you can see from the photos of a few of our finds.
