Ebola in Peru

The following conversation was in Spanish:

A friend stated that many people in Lima were complaining "de ebola (of ebola)." That it is a current problem with most of the population.

Knowing that ebola has not been found in Peru, I asked, "What do you mean?"

He stated, "Si, cuando pregunto, la mayoria me dice 'de-ebola luz, el agua, la renta y mas.'"

In Spanish this means that most people complain "Yes, I owe the (debo la) electric bill, the water bill, rent, and more."

When run together it sounds like they suffer from ebola...

Well, something definitely is lost in translation. But if you speak enough Spanish, try this on a latino you know.

If you have practiced it enough, you should get a good laugh.

Ebola in Peru? Well... hmmm... yeah, I guess.
