"Going to Peru is ... well ... if you ever have an opportunity in your life to go there, you should do it because it is absolutely mind boggling." - actor Dean Stockwell

What's the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Peru?

That's because these truly are some of the wonders of ancient and modern Peru, the Americas, in fact of the world.

Here we will cover not only those world-renowned places but will dig deeper into the culture, sights, sounds, tastes, and adventure of travel and Peruvian life and travel in a way that most other sites just can't do.

Some of the Lesser-known Spots Covered Include

For example:

What is the most raved about destination among the younger crowd in Lima, especially on school breaks?

The Pacific North Coast
inside peru

Punta Veleros

It's not Machu Picchu or Titicaca...it is Mancora and the nearby beaches of the Northern Coast.

You can get the full tropical beach rush as well as perfect world-class waves coming off the Pacific Ocean...or find a quiet beach where you can sip an ice-cold drink under the coco palms.

Yet the coastal or beach areas are barely touched on by many Peru travel guides.

David and Lin Mancora Peru Bamboo Place

I (David) was born in Lima, Peru, of US parents. My wife Lin (Pennsylvania Dutch) and I currently live in Los Organos, North Coast.

But you won't be hearing just from us. You'll see photos and read about this fascinating country from real people who are traveling and/or living in the "Country of the Inka."
v
Sharing experiences and getting questions answered from the insider's viewpoint is what this site is about.

Because of being right here on Peruvian soil, Lin and I as well as our other contributors have the opportunity to find out first hand the out-of-the way places...as well great suggestions for best vacations, tours, and hotels that can be found here.

v

What Lin and I will be doing as we travel and research this amazing country is to supply information that perhaps you have been looking for and have had a hard time finding. I know that we have spent many hours looking at a lot of good sites on Peru but just not finding some things that were important to us.

Hopefully, we can begin to fill in those gaps on this site.

One of the best things about traveling is sharing!

Do you have a favorite story and/or photo you can share about your Peruvian experiences?

Or why not read favorite stories from other folks?

Enjoy!

Don't Lose Your Memory! An External Hard Drive Protects You

WD My Passport 500GB Portable External Hard Drive Storage USB 3.0 Blue

Buy New $69.99

Are you traveling with a laptop, tablet, or other device where you're storing your photos, stories, etc?

One of the dangers of traveling is losing your recorded memories. Your computer device could be:

Stolen
Lost while traveilng
Damaged

Don't figure this out too late. Avoid what has happened to others, including me!

One of the best ways to protect yourself against this irremediable loss is a hard drive backup.

We recommend doing what we have done - purchasing this Western Digital My Passport 500GB Portable External Hard Drive.

With 500 GB, you'll have far more space than necessary for all your videos and photos.

Hey, even download some very large movie files for entertainment while sitting in a hotel room waiting for the rain to stop, the roads to open, or whatever -well, we hope THAT won't happen.

But be safe rather than sorry, get yourself a backup!
