Guesthouse in Miraflores
~ By Joshua Alan Davis - Miraflores, Lima, Peru
I took this photo in Miraflores, Lima, Peru on September 4th, 2011.
It was a clear and sunny day; I was just going for a walk and peered through a gate.
I used a Canon 7D, with a Sigma 30mm F1.4 for this photo.

Located on the flat land on top of the bluffs overlooking the Pacific ocean, the district of Miraflores on the west side of Lima has certain attractions.
For one, it is a more well-to-do neighborhood and home to many expats among its local residents.
With many restaurants, boutiques, and shopping areas, it is a handy place to stay when visiting Lima and relatively safe.
One of Lima's nicest
malls is Larco Mar. Its location is interesting and it definitely is an attraction. Not visible from the park at the top fo the high bluffs overlooking the beach and ocean area of Miraflores, you descend some steps almost into the fact of the bluffs, where the mall is nestled. Larco Mar has some very nice restaurants, a bowling alley, arts and local crafts are sold, as well as other things to see and do.
Miraflores also has nice parks, beaches that offer surfing, kite-boarding, and plain old hanging out.
In Miraflores and Lima itself, there's something for everyone, including city tours, to ancient ruins, to some of the best museums in the country.
Pre-Inca ruins in Miraflores? Yep! Huaca Pucllana' is right in Miraflores. Featuring a mud and adobe pyramid 70 feet high as well as lesser structures, this site is slowing taking shape as it is carefully being preserved. The entire site is about 1,600 feet by 575 feet and worth taking a look at.
Not your style? How about surf lessons? Or a night of Latin music and dancing?
Miraflores is definitely a place to relax while taking in the sights of historical Lima. ~ added by David at Inside-Peru.com
