Global Warming Affecting Peru

Fishing slump?

Fishing slump?

Well, this is a comment on what I've read and heard from locals here in Peru.

With the disintegration of part of a glacier, resulting in a "tsunami" (not accurate but that was the way it was reported), and the news about it, I was reminded of several other items.

The move of a number of sea lions from the Galapagos to an island south of here in Peru due to warming water.

The dismal state of the fishery here in Los Organos, Peru, due to the ? of the "pota" or giant squid that used to be the mainstay of the local fishing industry.

Old timers saying that the weather is much hotter than years ago (although take that with a grain of salt, sea salt).

Overall, many indications that global warming is affecting the lives of people in Peru.

But as far as the question, how long will this last...I will bow out on that one!
