El Anciano de La Plaza - June 2012 Peru Photo Contest

By: Alejandra Ramos Valle - Friesland, The Netherlands

This picture was taken during my trip to the North of Peru. The exact location is the 'Plaza de Armas' of some city in Piura.

I don't remember the exact date but this picture was taken somewhere in July 2011. It was a very sunny day with a little bit of humidity.

I can honestly say that I am not a very sensitive person, but when I saw this old man in the park still working at such age, I couldn't help but pity him.

For instance, I wanted to capture that moment of melancholy and compassion.

For this picture I used a Lumix Panasonic DMC-FZ18

If I had to give a suggestion to other photographers I would recommend not to overthink when looking for the perfect angle, just 'go with it'.
