ASP World Star Tour starts the year in San Bartolo Beach, Peru

The 2011 ASP World Star Tour starts the year in San Bartolo Beach, Peru, for the third year in a row.

The Movistar Pro World Star Tour 2011 will end later today, Sunday, January 23.

Peruvian surfers are expected to dominate the event, while surfers from around the world participate to get an early start on gaining points for the WST World Star Tour.

Movistar is the cell phone company that is the main promoter of the event in Peru.

Today, the surviving surfers head into the finals.

The ASP has two major championships, the World Title Race and this World Star Tours.
