Arizona Travel Info

Tourist Attractions in Arizona, as well as Arizona road maps, Arizona sightseeing, city of Phoenix - the Grand Canyon, the Petrified Forest and more

Some people travel mainly to be able to say, "I've been there and done that."

Others travel to get away for a few days or weeks. Many travel because they enjoy seeing new places, learning about other cultures, experiencing new foods, opportunities for adventure, interest in plants and animals or ecology - the list goes on and on.

Whatever your reason may be, you have probably traveled to more than one area or environment. On this page, we take a look at one of the very interesting travel destinations of the American Southwest, the State of Arizona.

To evaluate sites that provide the best Arizona travel info, I look for some or all of the following content:

  • Arizona Road Maps

  • Arizona Sightseeing

  • About the City of Phoenix, Arizona

  • National Parks of Arizona

  • Pictures of Arizona

  • Tourist Attractions in Arizona

The following are the stiff that I currently have reviewed that provide a really good source of all or most of the above topics. If you find these sites a benefit or there is other information you would like to see, add your comment in your Facebook box below the sites listed.

Arizona Vacation Planner (*Note - as of November, 2012, this site is unavailable)

Jeff and Paula Hartgraves have done their research on this great site on Arizona. The Hartgraves describe their site briefly in these words:

"Where can you hike in desert and mountains, raft the mighty Colorado River and stay at a world class resort and spa all in one day?

"In the beautiful Southwestern state of Arizona. Explore the Grand Canyon, the Sonoran Desert, the Old West and other scenic Arizona vacation spots with a husband and wife travel team."

In browsing my way through the Hartgraves site, I was drawn in by the personal presentation and a lot of information that just isn't covered on "mainstream" travel sites.

Travel Site Review

Arizona-Travel-Planner.com, I've focused on just a few of the topics that you are likely searching for.

1 - Arizona Travel Info - Arizona Road Maps

This site has a lot of maps. To give just one example that I really liked, the Hartgraves include maps highlighting driving routes from each of the neighboring states.

2 - Arizona Travel Info - Arizona Sightseeing

Jeff and Paula have spent a lot of time exploring Arizona's treasures over the past 30 years, so they know where to go and what to see. On top of that, their individual backgrounds add so much to their  Arizona travel info.

Jeff was a former zookeeper and one of his hobbies is photography. Paula's background is biology, and she has actually worked as a tour guide and wildlife research assistant on several projects.

So you can imagine the wealth of interesting info they present on well-known places like the Grand Canyon as well as little-known areas perfect for more in-depth Arizona sightseeing.

3 - City of Phoenix, Arizona

If you are thinking of moving to Arizona, you'll find that the city of Phoenix, Arizona is covered well on this site.

Along with Phoenix, there are pages on all other major cities in Arizona, including Scottsdale, Glendale, Tucson, Sedona, Flagstaff, and Payson with complete, and I mean complete, information on what to do, where to stay, dining, events, and much more.

4 - Arizona Travel Info - National Parks of Arizona

On a traveler's "most wanted poster" are always the national parks. Again, Arizona-Vacation-Planner.com proves to be a wealth of information on  Arizona's national parks. Including focused content and links on  the more popular national parks of Arizona - Grand Canyon, the Petrified Forest, and Saguaro National Park - you'll have access to useful content to plan your trips.

5 - Pictures of Arizona

If you are looking for pictures of Arizona, you'll be very pleased with this site. Laced through all their pages, Jeff and Paula have very beautiful photos, many of them their own.

6 - Tourist Attractions in Arizona

A nice feature of the Hartgraves' site is their alphabetical indexes where you can find exactly the tourist attractions in Arizona that you are interested in. In fact, browse through the lists and I know you are going to find tourist attractions that you didn't even  know about.
